Service Description

If you have concerns about a potential learning disability, such as dyslexia, or suspect that your child may benefit from special education services, a comprehensive evaluation is an excellent choice. This thorough assessment provides a complete picture of your child's strengths and challenges, helping to identify the most appropriate interventions and support strategies. The comprehensive evaluation includes: IQ testing to assess cognitive abilitiesAchievement tests to measure academic skills and performance Adaptive skills assessment to evaluate daily living and social skills Executive function testing to examine organization, planning, and problem-solving abilities Sensory evaluation (if needed) to identify any sensory processing difficulties Behavioral and emotional assessment to understand your child's mental health and well-being With your permission, valuable information will also be collected from your child's teachers to gain insights into their performance and behavior in the classroom setting. This comprehensive package is highly recommended if you are seeking special education services, such as an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or a Service Plan. The results of this evaluation may also qualify your child for the Jon Peterson Scholarship, which provides additional resources and support. Furthermore, the findings from this evaluation may help you access supports or services from your local County Board of Developmental Disabilities or the Social Security Income (SSI) office, ensuring that your child receives the necessary assistance to thrive both academically and personally. By investing in this comprehensive evaluation, you are taking a proactive step in understanding your child's unique needs and ensuring that they receive the most appropriate interventions and accommodations to help them succeed.
