Question:

I think I have autism, I make eye contact and do not present stereotypically, will you still assess me? Is it worth my time?

Answer:

At PACE Consulting, we firmly believe that stereotypes can be incredibly damaging and hurtful. We recognize that the world is constantly evolving, and we are committed to staying informed about the latest developments and information to provide the most accurate, effective, and compassionate support to our clients.

Our approach is centered around the idea that if an evaluation or service is valuable to you, then it is worth investing your time and energy. We are here to support you in your personal growth and development, and we will work with you to assess your unique needs and goals, regardless of any preconceived notions or stereotypes.

When it comes to assessing autism, we understand that it is a complex and multifaceted condition that goes beyond simple markers like eye contact or verbal communication. We take a comprehensive approach to evaluation, considering a wide range of factors that contribute to an individual's experiences and challenges.

Our goal is to help you feel fully supported and empowered throughout your journey with us. We are dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your needs, strengths, and opportunities for growth. Whether you are seeking an initial assessment or ongoing support, PACE Consulting is here to walk alongside you, offering personalized guidance and resources to help you thrive.

Question:

Do you understand masking? I'm so used to masking... will it effect my result if I get tested? If I do get tested, who diagnoses it? Can PACE Consulting provide the diagnosis?

Answer:

We can indeed diagnose Autism, ADHD, and many things through Autism Spectrum Tests and psychoeducational evaluations, and have done it for many years. At our practice, we have a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding masking and its potential impact on autism diagnosis, especially in adults. We recognize that masking can be an exhausting and challenging aspect of an individual's life, and we are committed to providing a thorough and accurate assessment that takes this into account.

We are highly skilled in differentiating between an individual's authentic self and their masked behaviors. We understand that as an adult, receiving an accurate diagnosis of autism, ADHD, or other forms of neurodiversity can be particularly challenging when masking is present. That's why we have dedicated ourselves to staying at the forefront of research and best practices in this area.

During our assessment process, we employ a range of specialized tools and techniques to carefully observe and analyze an individual's behavior, communication style, and social interactions. By taking a holistic approach and considering the intricacies of masking, we are able to provide a comprehensive and precise evaluation that reflects each individual as accurately as possible.
